Sports Fans React Positively to First Live Premier League Soccer Game on NESNSports fans, both in New England and around the country, witnessed a notable first on Sunday. NESN aired Arsenal's thrilling 3-2 win over West West Bromwich Albion. It marked the first live broadcast of Premier League soccer in the network's history.

Dubbed "Survival Sunday" in some quarters, the final round of the Premier League season saw each of the 10 games played simultaneously. Seismic shifts in the final standings were happening in real time. Manchester City and Manchester United were playing in separate games to decide this season's league champion (City prevailed in the end). Arsenal needed a victory to hold onto third place and clinch a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League (it did after some desperate defending).

The situation was fluid during the two hours of action, and fans everywhere were thrilled. We even heard from some of those watching on NESN before, during and after the game.
