Chad Johnson Released by Miami Dolphins Following Domestic IncidentWell, so much for that idea.

Chad Johnson last just one year in New England, but the wide receiver didn’t even make it into the regular season with the Miami Dolphins.

Following a domestic dispute with his wife, Evelyn Lozada, on Saturday — in which the six-time Pro Bowl star is accused of head butting Lozada following an argument over her finding a receipt for a box of condoms — Johnson was arrested and reportedly spent the night in jail.

Jay Glazer first reported that the Dolphins had released Johnson from his contract, and by the time of the Tweet the team had already cleaned out his locker.

About an hour later, the Dolphins’ Twitter account confirmed what was already known.
