A little good-natured tomfoolery is expected whenever veterans welcome rookies to a team for the first time.
But the stunt New England players pulled against their new teammates this year — giving them odd haircuts and shave jobs — just wreaks of laziness.
The Patriots posted several photos from Monday night's Kickoff Gala on their Facebook page, showing a few of the unlucky rookies and what happened to their heads. But, rather than seeing some of the big names from the draft this past spring (Chandler Jones? Dont'a Hightower?), it looks like less-heralded youngsters took the brunt of some very uninspired cut jobs.
The worst part has to be that, instead of some really good (bad) haircuts, whoever took the clippers to some of these guys' heads seemed to go wild and then stop halfway through. Just a couple of the cuts showed some imagination.
Take a look at what the rookies endured, and see whether you think this year's Patriots can be trusted to have a little more creativity when it comes to taking their game from the salon and onto the field.
