Soccer Fan Hits Injured Player With Explosive, Blast Also Catches Trainers, Opponents (Video)As Ricardo Laborde lay on the field, there was a bit of uncertainty about the extent of his injury.

That was all forgotten moments later when a fan threw a firework onto the field, and it exploded right where Laborde was being treated.

The latest case of soccer fan mayhem took place in Cyprus on Sunday.

A matchup featuring Anorthosis Famagusta and Omonia Nicosia was marred by the explosion, which knocked several players and trainers to the ground. The game was held up for 10 minutes as those involved recovered from the blast. Luckily, everyone escaped serious injury.

Last month, a fan threw an explosive device onto the field during a soccer game in Iran. That explosion was powerful enough to maim or kill someone standing nearby. Although the Cypriot explosive wasn't as powerful, it reminds us the danger that exists when idiots get their hands on things that were meant to be used by sensible human beings.

Laborde's Anorthosis went on to win the game 2-0.

Watch the explosion in the video below.
