The New England Patriots are putting in some extra work on a top tight end prospect.
The Patriots are hosting former Iowa tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz on Wednesday, a source told NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. Fiedorowicz said in March that the Patriots are one of the teams that has shown him the most interest before the draft.
Fiedorowicz caught 30 passes for 299 yards with six touchdowns in 2013. His best season came in 2012 when he had 45 catches for 433 yards and a touchdown.
The Patriots also are hosting former Washington State safety Deone Bucannon, a league source told National Football Post’s Aaron Wilson. Bucannon shined at the NFL Scouting Combine in March when he ran a 4.49-second 40-yard dash at 6-foot-1, 211 pounds. The former Cougar ran a 6.96-second three-cone drill and 4.26-second short shuttle with a 10-foot-5 broad jump and 36.5-inch vertical leap.
