Bruins, Penguins, TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts, Adam McQuaidThe Boston Bruins announced Sunday afternoon that defenseman Adam McQuaid underwent a successful arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle Thursday.

The expected recovery time is eight weeks.

The 27-year-old D-man was bothered by a quadriceps injury earlier in the year.

The Bruins evened their second-round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Montreal Canadiens at a game apiece with a thrilling 5-3 comeback victory Saturday in Game 2.

The series will shift to Montreal for Game 3 on Tuesday night.
