The Boston Bruins earned their first shootout win of the season Wednesday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

B’s forwards David Krejci and Reilly Smith silenced the fans at Joe Louis Arena by scoring in the shootout to snap Boston’s three-game losing streak. Gustav Nyquist and Andrej Nestrasil failed to score for the Red Wings, whose record dropped to 1-2-0.

Krejci scored the game’s first goal when he received a great pass from Chris Kelly after a Red Wings turnover, skated into the attacking zone and beat Detroit goaltender Jimmy Howard with a beautiful move. It was Krejci’s first goal of the 2014-15 campaign.

Smith also scored in regulation. He capitalized on a rebound after Howard saved a Patrice Bergeron wraparound attempt in the second period. Smith has a team-leading two goals through five games.
