College Football Playoff Rankings: TCU Cracks Top Four, Oregon No. 2

TCUThe selection committee has made its statement: No team in college football is safe, even those with perfect records.

The 12-member committee released its third playoff rankings Tuesday night, and the top four has shifted once again. One-loss Oregon continued its upward climb by shooting to No. 2, dropping undefeated Florida State to No. 3. TCU, meanwhile, moved into the fourth spot previously occupied by Auburn.

Mississippi State remained in the No. 1 spot for the third consecutive week.

TCU, No. 6 in the previous poll, earned a convincing 41-20 win over No. 7 Kansas State on Saturday and has only lost to Baylor, ranked No. 7 in the committee’s latest poll. Close behind the Horned Frogs were Alabama and Arizona State, who both earned convincing wins of their own over the weekend.
