Joe Louis Arena in Detroit was home to a special moment Friday night.

Former Red Wings legend Gordie Howe was honored before Detroit’s game against the Los Angeles Kings. He suffered a significant stroke Tuesday, but is back resting at his daughter’s home in Texas.

Red Wings fans gave Howe a standing ovation while holding “Get Well Gordie” signs, and it made for a very touching moment.
