LeBron James and Kyrie IrvingThe start of the 2014-15 season isn’t going as planned for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Apparently, Cavs superstar LeBron James and teammate Kyrie Irving exchanged words in the locker room after Cleveland’s 20-point loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday. The conversation led to Irving quickly leaving without speaking to the media, multiple sources told ESPN.com.

It’s unclear exactly what was said in the exchange, but it likely had to do with Cleveland’s struggles sharing the ball so far this season.

To make matters worse, Cleveland was taken down by the Utah Jazz 102-100 on Wednesday after a last-second game-winning shot by Gordon Hayward. The Cavs had six assists as a team in that game, with Irving recording zero.

“As far as (Irving’s) scoring, it was big-time,” James told reporters in Salt Lake City. “He made all the shots we needed to keep us in the game. He made some great plays down the stretch, finished above the rim. It was great.

“You just can’t explain (the low assist totals). There’s no way you’re going to win a basketball game like that, just having six assists. We just can’t win like that and we got to figure out a way to help each other and not make it so tough.”

James cited “bad habits” as the reason behind the Cavs’ early woes after the loss to Portland. They are now 1-3 on the season and travel to face the Denver Nuggets on Friday.
