If the Boston Red Sox thought the local media was tough, they had another thing coming at “Winter Weekend.”

The three-day event, held at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn., on Jan. 23-25, featured plenty of good times. Yet the highlight of the festivities came when the kids took over.

In a special “kids press conference,” a roomful of young Sox fans got to fire questions at new third baseman Pablo Sandoval and pitchers Justin Masterson, Joe Kelly and Craig Breslow. They didn’t disappoint.

Thanks to these intrepid reporters’ questions, we now know that Kelly’s favorite baseball memory is taking a selfie with Derek Jeter, that Breslow looks like he prefers his steak well done and that Sandoval once ate a scorpion in Taiwan.

The highlight of the video might come at the end, though, when each player had to describe how they were better than star slugger David Ortiz.

Take notes, Red Sox beat reporters.
