David Ortiz keeps spreading wisdom.

Ortiz, a three-time World Series champion, is entering his 19th major league season at age 39. Big Papi, who signed with the Red Sox before the 2003 season, is Boston’s longest-tenured player, so his word certainly carries weight.

Ortiz has shown no signs of slowing down on the diamond, yet he continues to evolve as a mentor for the organization’s young players. Whether it’s working with Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts or any of Boston’s other up-and-comers, Ortiz takes pride in giving his teammates valuable guidance.

NESN.com’s Ashley Allen recently caught up with Ortiz down at Red Sox spring training in Fort Myers, Fla., to discuss the slugger’s evolution as a leader and what advice he’s giving to the younger players in camp.
