The gates won’t open at the Kentucky Derby until Saturday, but there’s already an early scratch.

Owners Stonestreet Stables, Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith told Churchill Downs on Thursday that their horse, Stanford, would be a scratch for this weekends race, per KentuckyDerby.com. Mossarosa’s Frammento will take Stanford’s No. 20 spot in the starting gate.

Stanford was a long shot at 50-1 odds Thursday, and Frammento will enter the race with the same chances to win it. Charles Fipke’s Tale of Verve is the only also-eligible left.
