It seems as though Brandon Spikes is in some very hot water.

The New England Patriots released the linebacker Monday after a 2011 Mercedes-Benz Maybach registered in his name was found abandoned and damaged on I-495 in Foxboro, Mass., around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday. An OnStar representative reportedly told Massachusetts State police that the driver reported hitting a deer, but shortly after, the passengers of a nearby 2009 Nissan Murano reported being hit by a car they had not seen.

The Murano’s three passengers — a 51-year-old man, 32-year-old woman and 12-year-old boy — suffered only minor injuries, and an investigation into the hit-and-run is ongoing.

Local news outlets obtained photos of Spikes’ Maybach, and the front-end damage is significant.
