Milan Lucic had a special connection with Boston, and he recalled that connection and thanked Bruins fans Friday.
The bruising winger was traded to the Los Angeles Kings on June 26, ending an eight-year run with the Bruins. The B’s gave Lucic his start in pro hockey when they drafted him in 2006 before he made his debut in 2007.
Over the years, Lucic became a fan favorite for his physical style of play on the ice. Away from the rink, he was one of the most involved Bruins when it came to charity and community service. He reflected upon that and thanked everyone involved in his time with the Bruins on Friday with a letter in The Boston Globe.
See the letter below.
By the way, the Kings come to Boston on Feb. 9, and it probably goes without saying that Bruins fans will return the favor then.
