Brendan Rodgers has had his say on his departure from Liverpool FC.

Rodgers issued a statement through the League Managers’ Association on Monday, in which he thanked his players and staff, Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group and many others connected with the club.

Rodgers served as Liverpool’s manager from June 2012 through Sunday when the club terminated his contract. Liverpool thanked Rodgers for his hard work Sunday, and Rodgers reciprocated the gratitude one day later.

Liverpool now is searching for a new manager, hoping to kick start its 2015-16 season. Jurgen Klopp is among the early contenders to fill the managerial vacancy that Rodgers’ exit created.
