College Football Playoff Matchups: Clemson, Alabama Top Four-Team Field

After an eventful end to the regular season, the College Football Playoff field is set.

The selection committee on Sunday announced the four teams that will participate in the second annual College Football Playoff. They are, in order of ranking, Clemson, Alabama, Michigan State and Oklahoma.

The teams will square off in semifinal matchups on Dec. 31, with the winners facing off Jan. 11 in Glendale, Ariz., for the championship.

Here are the College Football Playoff rankings with records in parentheses:
1. Clemson (13-0)
2. Alabama (12-1)
3. Michigan State (12-1)
4. Oklahoma (11-1)

Here’s how those four teams will match up in the national semifinals:
Orange Bowl (Dec. 31): No. 4 Oklahoma vs. No. 1 Clemson
Cotton Bowl (Dec. 31): No. 3 Michigan State vs. No. 2 Alabama
