Roman’s Reign has begun.

WWE superstar Roman Reigns defeated Sheamus in a World Heavyweight Championship match on “Monday Night RAW,” and he did so in the most epic way possible: By Superman-punching Vince McMahon right in the face.

McMahon, the chairman of WWE, was in Philadelphia for the show because Reigns attacked WWE executive vice president Triple H on Sunday after losing a title match at “Tables, Ladders, and Chairs.” Triple H also is McMahon’s son-in-law.

It was McMahon’s first TV appearance in more than a year, and it produced some terrific moments.

McMahon demanded an apology from Reigns for his attack, which the latter obviously refused. The Boss then nearly took on Reigns himself before then-champion Sheamus offered to fight Reigns for him.

McMahon agreed to let Sheamus “beat an apology out of” Reigns with the world title on the line, but on the condition that should Reigns lose, he gets fired. McMahon tossed in a cheap shot as well.

Unsurprisingly, McMahon went to great lengths to help ensure Reigns lost. With Sheamus pinned and about to lose, McMahon pulled the referee from the ring as he was about to finish his three count.

Reigns outlasted the incident and an attack from League of Nations members Rusev and Alberto Del Rio to take the title, his second reign as champion.
