It’s been a good couple of weeks for sportsmanship and doing the right thing in the tennis world.

A couple of weeks ago, it was American tennis player Jack Sock who made headlines with an impressive display of sportsmanship in a match with Lleyton Hewitt. This week, at the Australian Open, it’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who deserves a round of applause for his act of kindness toward a ball girl.

In a match with Omar Jasika, Tsonga realized a ball girl standing behind the base line had been hit in the face with a ball. The young lady was in clear distress, so Tsonga took matters into his own hands. He checked on the girl and then took her arm and escorted her off the court so she could receive further medical attention.
