In any conversation about the best basketball team of all time, the 1985-86 Boston Celtics are always on the tip of the tongue. Now, the 2015-16 San Antonio Spurs will join them.

While the Golden State Warriors have run rampant through the NBA this season in their quest to break the NBA’s single-season wins record, the Spurs have somewhat quietly flown under the radar and are equally one of the scariest opponents any NBA team has ever seen.

Until Sunday, San Antonio had gone undefeated at home, sporting a 54-game win streak at the AT&T Center that dated back to last season. The Warriors broke that streak with a 92-86 victory, but the Oklahoma City Thunder weren’t as lucky Tuesday night. The Thunder held off the Spurs for 48 minutes and forced overtime, but San Antonio escaped with a 102-98 victory for their 40th home win of the season, which ties those ’86 Celts for the best mark in NBA history.

Kawhi Leonard scored a game-high 26 points for the Spurs in the win. San Antonio improves to 66-15 and is locked in as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
