The Boston Red Sox are out west to take on the San Francisco Giants, who have won three World Series titles since 2010 and appear to be a favorite for this season’s crown.

The Giants sit atop the National League West, but two of their best players — former NL MVP Buster Posey and Hunter Pence — won’t start Tuesday’s game.

The Red Sox also will start without one of their top performers. David Ortiz will begin the game on the bench and is available to pinch hit if needed. Remember, there’s no designated hitter in games played at NL ballparks.

Rick Porcello will take the mound for Boston. He’s 7-2, but his earned run average is at 4.00 after giving up nine earned runs over his last two starts.

Here are the lineups for both teams.

Dustin Pedroia, 2B
Xander Bogaerts, SS
Travis Shaw, 3B
