David Price knew he was about to face a big challenge when he came to the Boston Red Sox this offseason.

The starting pitcher chose the Red Sox in free agency despite some bad blood from his days with the Tampa Bay Rays, but he wasn’t afraid to take the dive.

“I think coming to Boston, of all 30 teams that I could’ve chose from, this to me would’ve been the toughest place,” Price said on NESN’s “Red Sox Gameday Live” to Red Sox historian Gordon Edes. “Just with the history I’ve had here and everything, I think this was the toughest place for me to come. I didn’t shy away from that, I wasn’t scared of it, and it’s definitely taken time for me to get to where I’m at right now in that clubhouse.”
