Is Adrian Peterson the Best Running Back in the NFL? Lost in the drama of Brett Favre, Brad Childress and Randy Moss is the little-known fact that a pretty dangerous running back named Adrian Peterson is on his way to Foxboro.

The running back is second in the NFL in rushing yards with 684, averaging 114 per game. He's a dangerous threat, and the Patriots will have their hands full all evening on Sunday — but is he the best in the game?

It's been hard to tell this year, as the Vikings haven't relied on him as much as they probably should have. That's at least part of the reason they're 2-4 … though much more of that reason is because Favre has turned into a turnover machine.
