On-loan Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole recently subject himself to a televised grilling by an aspiring French journalist that goes by the same name. Appearing on LOSCTV, Cole opened up to himself about life at a new club in a new country.
Cole discusses such topics as his first goal in French soccer and fitting in with his teammates. He praises the mentality of his teammates citing their “hunger” for success. His attitude toward adjusting to French life and culture is admirable. The veteran is making an honest effort at learning French, even though he is only on a season-long loan. He even reveals his favorite French word.
He is appearing regularly for the Lille in both Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League. He has played nine games in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
After 10 games, the defending champions are in fourth place in the league. Halfway through the group stage in Europe, they are at the foot of their group, but still can qualify for the knockout rounds.
