Many fans have been clamoring for the Bruins to add a big time scorer, and Rick Nash would certainly fit the bill.
Perhaps acquiring the five-time All-Star isn't outside the realm of possibility either. The Bruins have inquired about Nash, according to ESPN.com. The talks, however, have only been exploratory to this point, so a lot would still have to happen in order for the talented forward to end up in Black and Gold.
Nash has been the subject of trade rumors since early this past season, and there were many who believed the Blue Jackets would deal him prior to the trade deadline. Columbus opted not to pull the trigger, though, and the trade speculation has carried over into the early part of the offseason.
A number of teams have reportedly shown interest in Nash. The Columbus Dispatch reported last week that up to seven teams have had "significant" trade talks with the Blue Jackets, including the Rangers, Maple Leafs, Flyers, Sharks, and Hurricanes.
The holdup in a Nash deal thus far has been Columbus' asking price, which has been high all along. If the B's were to pull the trigger on acquiring the former 40-goal scorer, they may have to part ways with either Tyler Seguin or Dougie Hamilton.
Perhaps the price has — or will — come down at some point, but that's certainly not an appetizing idea for many B's fans.
