One of the coolest nicknames in the NBA will be taking a seat for one game as a result of his actions on Saturday.
“The Vanilla Gorilla” Joel Przybilla, a center for the Milwaukee Bucks, was suspended one game for throwing the basketball at a referee during the Bucks’ 111-85 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Przybilla, a 13th-year veteran out of Minnesota, will serve the suspension Tuesday when the Bucks host the Pacers, NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson announced.
Przybilla, 33, will lose about $12,200 in forfeiting his game check, according to The Inquisitr.
Przybilla has played most of his career with the Portland Trail Blazers, but in August he signed with Milwaukee to return to the city where he began his pro career in 2000. He is averaging 0.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in nine games this season with the Bucks.
