Toronto Raptors play-by-play man Matt Devlin might want to brush up on his hip-hop next time he hits up Washington, D.C.
During Tuesday’s Raptors-Wizards game at the Verizon Center, Devlin was commenting on what he thought was some in-game beef between Rudy Gay and rapper Wale, who was sitting courtside. The Raptors star and the rapper looked as though they were engaged in smack-talk during the game (which Gay later said they were “joking y’all” and that the two are friends) so Devlin made a few comments about the rapper, including:
“Wale’s inspiring, and I’m sure somebody on Twitter can tell me exactly if they’ve ever heard of Wale. He’s not Drake, that’s for sure.”
Wale caught wind of the comments and fired some Twitter shots at Devlin and even approached the booth, as seen in the video below.
