Report: Nick Saban, Alabama Agree on Multi-Year Contract Extension

Nick Saban is staying at Alabama.

The 62-year-old head coach, who has led the Crimson Tide to three of the last four BCS national championships, has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with the SEC school, according to ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit.

The financial details of Saban’s new deal are unknown at this time, but we do know that he will be the highest-paid coach in college football.

Saban was rumored to be a potential candidate for the head coaching job at the University of Texas, a position that is not vacant.

Alabama’s bid for a third consecutive national title ended when it lost in stunning fashion to the rival Auburn Tigers on Nov. 30. The Crimson Tide will conclude their 2013 season with a Sugar Bowl matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners.
