The Boston Bruins had a long summer — certainly much longer than they wanted.

The Bruins had all that time to stew over their disappointing second-round exit in last season’s Stanley Cup playoffs. That officially comes to an end Wednesday night when the Bruins kick off their 2014-15 season at TD Garden.

Once again, expectations are high, which Bruins ownership is embracing as it continues to adjust and improve the experience for fans both on and off the ice.

Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs and principal Charlie Jacobs spoke Tuesday at the team’s media day about the upcoming season.
