Peyton Manning replaced Brock Osweiler as the Denver Broncos’ quarterback during the third quarter of Sunday’s regular-season finale against the San Diego Chargers.

The Broncos were struggling to move the ball against the lowly San Diego Chargers when Manning started warming up on the sideline. He immediately led the team on an 80-yard, go-ahead touchdown drive that took just 2:49 off the clock. It was the first time Denver had run a play from the red zone all day.

Manning was 2-of-2 passing for 20 yards on the drive, which ended in a C.J. Anderson rushing TD.

A win over the Chargers would give the Broncos the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs, while a loss could lead to a bevvy of options, depending on the results of other games around the league.

UPDATE (8:21 p.m. ET): Manning finished 5-of-9 passing for 69 yards in rallying the Broncos to a 27-20 win that gave them the AFC’s No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
