Boston College Facing Dangerous Chippewas Team As if coming off a tough loss wasn't hard enough, the Boston College Eagles must now prepare for a very good and very hungry Central Michigan team at the Heights next Saturday afternoon.

The Chippewas have captured seven straight wins since dropping their opening game to Arizona 19-6 and come to BC with the nation's 18th most potent offense, which scores 33.1 points per game. Although in the weak Mid-American Conference, CMU is one dangerous team looking to make a big splash against an ACC squad.

“This one’s going to be hard for a lot of reasons, and the biggest reason is that they’re good. They’re very good,” head coach Frank Spaziani told Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald. "And I’m not crying wolf here. This is a very good football team."

The Chippewas offense is led by quarterback Dan LeFevour, who has 16 passing and nine rushing touchdowns to go with 2,218 total yards in eight games. LeFevour also led CMU to a 29-27 win at Michigan State, where he tossed 328 yards and three touchdowns. LeFevour's favorite target this season has been Antonio Brown, who has grabbed seven touchdown receptions on 544 yards. Despite this dynamic connection, Spaziani believes the success of the Chippewas has started at the top, in head coach Butch Jones.

“In that league you have to coach well to survive,” Spaziani said. “The talent is what it is and they play three or four games out of the league and to have the spectacular season that they’re having they obviously have to have good players, but they really have to coach well. They’re technicians and I’m very impressed with their schemes.”

The last time the Eagles and Chippewas squared off was in 2006 when Matt Ryan led the Eagles to a slim 31-24 win. In that game, LeFevour came off the Chippewas' bench and threw for 221 yards and rushed for 72 more in what was his first college football contest.
