Report: Jets Trade for Wide Receiver Braylon Edwards In what has proven to be a very busy Wednesday morning in the NFL, the New York Jets have reportedly worked out a trade with the Cleveland Browns for Pro Bowl wide receiver Braylon Edwards, according to ESPN and Fox Sports.

The reported deal would send Edwards to New York, with Chansi Stuckey, Jason Trusnik and two draft picks — believed to be a third- and fifth-round pick — going to Cleveland.

Edwards is currently under investigation by the league for an alleged incident outside a Cleveland night club earlier this week in which he was accused of assaulting a friend of LeBron James.

Edwards, 26, had his best year in the 2007 season, catching 80 passes for 1,289 yards and 16 touchdowns — all career highs. His numbers dropped significantly in 2008, and the receiver was heavily criticized for his drops. He caught 55 passes for 873 yards and just three touchdowns in 2008. This year, he's made 10 receptions for 139 yards and he's yet to find the end zone.

With the Jets, he'll provide rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez with a veteran target. As soon as Edwards drops a pass, however, he'll likely hear about it from the New York media and fans.
