Jets, Colts Take Different Approaches to Dealing With Media The Jets and Colts display a sharp contrast in media styles, and it all starts with each team's head coach. While Jets head coach Rex Ryan has shown a "loose, swagger-licious attitude" in public, Colts head coach Jim Caldwell has been calm, cool and collected.

Ryan has declared his team the Super Bowl favorite and isn’t shy about letting the world know his team is ready to face the Colts.

"This is the best football team that we've had all year," Ryan told the Philadelphia Daily News. "So if Indy is going to beat us, this is the best. We have absolutely no excuses. This is the best we've played on defense, the best we've played on offense and special teams as well. They're getting us at our best, and we'll see if it's good enough. I hope it is and I think it will be."

The Jets have defied critics and are one win away from their first Super Bowl appearance in over 40 years. Despite being an afterthought at the start of the season, the Jets have never doubted they could win a championship.

"We believed the whole time, the whole year when it wasn't the popular choice, the popular opinion, but here we are," Ryan told the New York Daily News. "We don't have to apologize to anybody."

The Colts also are confident about their chances in Sunday's game, but Caldwell’s team is quietly preparing for the matchup.

"You may try to draw parallels between Rex and I or the two teams," Caldwell told the New York Daily News. "The thing about this game is it requires an immense amount of authenticity. You have to be who you are. The season's too long to pretend. The emotion involved in this game will strip away all that veneer, and you are who you are. And that's who we are. That's how we've always handled things."

Colts linebacker Gary Brackett says his team's on-the-field play will determine who represents the AFC in Super Bowl XLIV.

"Sunday at 3 o'clock, we're going to see what happens," Brackett told the Daily News.
