Heading into the season, the odds of the New York Jets winning Super Bowl XLIV were 150-1. Heading into Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Colts, the Jets are a 7-1 shot to win it all.

The Jets entered the playoffs by defeating the Colts and the Bengals, both of whom were resting starters in the last weeks of the regular season. Since then, the Jets have been on a roll, beating the Bengals and Chargers in consecutive weeks on the road.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan declared his team to be the favorite in the playoffs, even planning a victory parade following the Super Bowl.

Jets offensive tackle Damien Woody echoes Ryan’s confidence.

“There’s all these teams here in the tournament … why can’t it be us to go out there and win the whole thing?” Woody told the New York Post.

The Jets stand on the precipice of their first Super Bowl appearance since Super Bowl III. Vegas oddsmakers have made the Jets 7 1/2-point underdogs for Sunday’s game, but Woody says he feels good about the team’s chances.

“We feel good about going back to Indianapolis,” Woody told the Post, “and we believe we’re going to go out there and bring this thing back to New York.”
