Report: New York Jets Eyeing Denver's Brandon Marshall The New York Jets made waves in 2009 trading for one supremely talented — yet enigmatic — receiver when they acquired Braylon Edwards from Cleveland.

Now, coach Rex Ryan and GM Mike Tannenbaum may be at it again.

According to the National Football Post, the Jets may make an offer to the Denver Broncos for embattled wideout Brandon Marshall. Citing a source within the organization, the Jets are having internal discussions regarding Marshall, but would like to retain their first-round pick in this year’s draft in any offer.

There were talks last August of Marshall coming east to play for Gang Green, but nothing happened. Now with Marshall again on the trading block, the Jets could reenter the fray.

According to ESPN, the Seahawks already made an offer to the Broncos for Marshall, but they balked when they were asked to include their first-round pick, the sixth overall in what is widely regarded as a deep draft. The Jets’ pick is 23 spots lower at No. 29, but after having success trading up in the 2009 draft to land both Mark Sanchez and Shonn Greene — who likely will be starting at quarterback and running back next season — New York will look to keep some tradable assets going into this year’s draft.

Marshall has been one of the league’s top receivers when not running into trouble with his coaches. Character issues surround the 25-year-old, making many potential suitors hesitant to gamble away their future in an effort to acquire him.
