The 11-hour Wimbledon epic between John Isner and Nicolas Mahut was an undeniable test of endurance.
Durex, a condom company, took note, and incorporated the match into a television ad.
The commercial masterfully plants the seeds of innuendo by showing Mahut diving at tennis balls in the endless fifth set, interspersed with a text overlay that reads, “When you want to keep going … and going.”
After the final clip of Isner’s jubilant celebration upon winning the match (70-68 in the fifth), sultry whispers of “Je t’aime” (French for “I love you”) further set the mood.
Energizer could have capitalized on the match that kept going and going, but Durex beat them to the punch.
