Report: B.J. Upton Likely Staying With Rays

B.J. Upton may be staying put in Tampa Bay, after all.

Contrary to rumors that the Rays are considering trading their 25-year-old center fielder, MLB sources have said that Upton is unlikely to be moved, FoxSports.com reports.

Upton is hitting only .228 with eight homers in 2010, but the Rays believe that highly touted outfield prospect Desmond Jennings is not quite seasoned enough to play a major role down the stretch in the Rays’ playoff push.
