The Jets have been the most active team in the AFC East this offseason and that trend has continued into training camp, as Fox Sports is reporting that Rex Ryan has been given a two-year contract extension.

Along with Ryan, the Jets have also inked general manager Mike Tannenbaum for another two years, meaning the duo will be chasing the AFC crown together until at least 2014.

Last season — Ryan's first with the NYJ — the charismatic Ryan led the Jets to their first AFC title game appearance since 1998 and has been both a fan and player favorite since taking over. The Jets’ defense ranked No. 1 in the NFL in both scoring and total defense last season, led by the former Ravens defensive coordinator.

New York has added LaDainian Tomlinson, Santonio Holmes, Jason Taylor, Antonio Cromartie and Mark Brunnel, among others, this offseason.

Tannenbaum, 37, has been with the Jets since 1997 and was named general manager in 2006.
