Former UConn running back Andre Dixon didn’t have to go far to find professional football after his days as a Husky were all said and done as the Hartford Colonials plucked him No. 2 overall in this year’s UFL draft.

This fall, New England will be able to watch Dixon tear up the gridiron some more, live on NESN, as the official TV home of the Red Sox, Bruins and Hockey East will be airing two UFL contests from Hartford.

NESN and the Hartford Colonials will kick off the 2010 season at Rentschler Field at 2.30 p.m. ET against the Sacramento Mountain Lions. NESN will then broadcast the Colonials again in Week 5 when the Colonials take on the Omaha Nighthawks, who are coached by former BC skipper Jeff Jagodzinski.
