Michael Irvin has never been labeled dull by any stretch of the imagination.
The Hall of Fame wide receiver for the Cowboys was as flashy as they come during his playing days, and is well-known for his gaudy, colorful attire.
Now he’s taking his showmanship to the next level.
Irvin told the Chicago Tribune that he once had sex in his yellow NFL Hall of Fame blazer, arguably the most sacred piece of clothing in the history of the sport.
"I remember when I was inducted into the Hall of Fame and they gave me my Hall of Fame yellow blazer," Irvin told the Tribune. "I wore it for two straight days. Finally my wife was in bed and said she wanted to make love but that I had to take the coat off. I refused and kept the blazer on because I wanted to perform like a Hall of Famer on the field and off."
Could you imagine if this type of behavior spread to other sports’ greatest stars?
Phil Jackson wearing all 10 of his NBA championship rings while in bed with his girlfriend. Derek Jeter using his World Series trophies as bedposts. And Tiger Woods? Well, he almost has enough green jackets to go around for all of his supposed mistresses.
But that’s enough poking fun. Irvin played hard during his 12-year career, hard enough to earn himself a spot in Canton. What he does with this jacket is his own decision.
