In light of Calvin Pace's foot surgery, Rex Ryan floated the possibility of signing former Patriot Adalius Thomas as a replacement.

The free-linebacker, who played under Ryan in Baltimore, responded to the rumors — expressing interest in the potential move, reports SI.com.

"I don't know if teams are scared off about me now or if I've been
blackballed,'' Thomas said. "I do think there're teams out there I'd be a
good fit for — the Jets especially.''

"All I know is [GM] Mike Tannenbaum called my agent [Bus Cook]
a couple of days ago and they're interested in maybe doing something
with me — but not until after the first game of the season.''

Thomas would prefer to return before the beginning of the regular season so as to receive a guaranteed salary.

Ryan and Thomas did apparently talk this weekend, though nothing is imminently developing.
