Darrelle Revis Limited During Jets Practice Due to Hamstring Tightness Not playing all summer earned Darrelle Revis an extra $7 million per season, but it may be taking a toll on his performance.

According to reports, Revis was limited during the Jets' practice Thursday due to tightness in his hamstring. His availability for Sunday's highly anticipated game against the Patriots remains unknown. An injury to their top cornerback — who is expected to shadow Randy Moss throughout Sunday's matchup — could be devastating to the 2010 Jets.

However, Revis says it's too early to raise any red flags about the injury. He and head coach Rex Ryan decided he should take it easy in preparation for Sunday.

"I'm not overly concerned right now," Ryan told reporters Thursday. "But any time it's a hamstring, you get a little nervous."

Even if he plays on Sunday, a less-than-100 percent effort from Revis could provide the edge New England needs to run over its division rival in Week 2. Moss said earlier in the week that he has been preparing for a better outing than last year facing the tough one-on-one coverage from Revis.

"I'm not taking anything from him, he did some good things to be the shutdown corner that he is — I'm not here to say that I prided my offseason on Revis," Moss said. "What he did last year was something that — he opened my eyes up as a wide receiver. That there's a cornerback out here where I have to be on my A-game. I prided my offseason on staying off Revis Island."

It doesn't help the Jets are also playing on a shortened week following a 10-9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens Monday night.

For now, however, Ryan and the Jets aren't too worried about Revis missing the matchup with the Patriots. Ryan believes the cornerback will play, but they're taking the hamstring twinge seriously, and will reevaluate the injury before Sunday's matchup.

"We're going to err on the side of caution," Ryan said. "We need him, obviously. … I would say it would definitely alter your plan if he's not 100 percent."
