Randy Moss Will Prove He's Not a Slouch in Minnesota Is Randy Moss really the slouch that Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie make him out to be?

Although his numbers may not look so good, Moss has been in a rough situation to start the season. After the Week 1 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, he explained to the press that he has been “unhappy” with the Patriots this season, but he was not letting that affect his game.  However, just because he said it doesn’t make it true.

With only nine catches on the season for a total of 139 yards and three touchdowns, the average Moss fan would understand that something is up and it is not because he is a “slouch” as Revis and Cromartie say.

Moss has kept his average yards per catch this season (15.4) close to his career average (15.6). This fact alone shows that Moss just needs to be happy, and how might that happen? When Brett Favre starts throwing to him on Monday night against the New York Jets. Favre has been waiting for a receiver that can bolt down the field, leaving the secondary in the dust and now he has his target.

With the trade to what Moss calls his home, Vikings fans can expect to see a newly rejuvenated wide receiver. All that Moss needed was to be back with the Vikings, who he feels obligated to work hard for since they gave him a chance in 1998 by drafting him.

Since the discussion of Moss’ trade has stemmed back to the beginning of the season, one cannot put the blame on Moss for not having a catch against the Miami Dolphins this past Monday. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick used the game as an experiment to see if they could do without Moss, and they did this by keeping the ball away from him.

Keeping that in mind, realize that Moss has not had a fair start to his season and that is what led to him acting “nonchalant” off the line as Cromartie stated after the Week 2 game against the Jets.

The Vikings will match up against the Jets on Monday night when Moss will prove to the football world once and for all that he is not a slouch.
