Alex Ferguson broke his silence on Tuesday, revealing that for the last two months now, star striker Wayne Rooney wants out of Old Trafford.
But that’s where the drama only begins.
About three weeks ago, Manchester United reportedly offered Rooney to Barcelona, according to the Daily Mail.
Barcelona declined, according to reports in Catalan newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, because they didn’t want to disrupt its tight-knit group. Barcelona has a young crop of rising stars and coach Pep Guardiola said he doesn’t want to send the wrong message by bringing in an outsider.
