Liverpool will find out soon the status of defender Jamie Carragher's shoulder injury. The same shoulder injury forced the LFC veteran to leave Sunday's game with Tottenham.

According to the Guardian, Carragher will be reevaluated on Tuesday. If it is revealed he needs surgery, the Reds will likely be without his services until mid-January.

Carragher dislocated his shoulder on Sunday and underwent preliminary tests on Monday. Those tests, however, were inconclusive and Carragher and Liverpool are hoping for more answers on Tuesday.

The Reds did get some good news injurywise on Monday, however. Steven Gerrard, for whom Carragher was serving as captain for, may return as many as 10 days ahead of schedule from a nagging hamstring injury.

Manager Roy Hodgson called the duo "the lifeblood of the club" on Sunday.
