Milan Lucic Hopes His Gritty On-Ice Style Didn’t Inspire the TD Garden Vandal

WILMINGTON, Mass. — Milan Lucic likes to play a rambunctious style on the ice. It's one of the things that has endeared the Bruins' bruising winger to Boston fans.

But one fan took things a little too far in emulating Lucic off the ice. A recently uploaded video featuring an unidentified female fan clad in a Bruins Lucic T-shirt kicking a hole through a pole in a women's bathroom at TD Garden after last Saturday's game against St. Louis quickly became an internet sensation over the past few days.

Even Lucic himself has seen the clip, which both amused and concerned the Bruins' tough guy.

"I was waiting at the end of that video for the Bear to step in and kind of show her the way out," said Lucic after an off-ice workout at Ristuccia Arena on Friday. "Obviously I don't encourage that, but what can I say?"

The Bear in question is the star of a string of popular Bruins commercials that laid out a number of important rules for Bruins fans to follow. The Bear may not have caught this vandal in the act, but he did have a response to her in the form of a new commercial.

As for Lucic, what did he think of a fan performing such mayhem while jersey his jersey?

"Sometimes when you play reckless and play tough and mean, you bring out the worst in people," said a bemused Lucic. "It was a funny clip, but obviously it was our home building. We want to make sure things are taken care of and it's not vandalized."
