On Thursday, Flyers forward Jeff Carter netted a hat trick. On Saturday, he got paid.

According to ESPN.com, the Flyers and their 25-year-old center have come to terms on a new 11-year, $58 million contract extension.

By locking up Carter, the Flyers secure one of the game's best young goal scorers. Two seasons ago, Carter scored 46 goals and followed that up last season with another impressive 33-goal campaign.

Carter is off to another hot start this season with 14 points aided by a hat trick on Thursday in an 8-1 Philaldephia rout of Carolina.
