Report: Jets Never Met With Randy Moss, Didn’t File Waiver Claim

The Randy Moss rumor mill kicked into high gear Wednesday morning on news that the embattled receiver had reportedly met with the New York Jets on Tuesday. That notion, apparently, is false.

Jets team spokesman Bruce Speight clarified decisively, “We’ve had no contact with Randy Moss or his representatives… Zero.”

Moss was also said to have been in Boston on Monday in the same WFAN report. The hypothetical meetings would have violated NFL tampering rules — adding to the long list of violations and investigations that the Jets have already dealt with thus far in 2010, according to ESPN.com.

New York will apparently not file a waiver claim for Moss, and the Cowboys, Ravens, Browns and Seahawks have similarly stated such intentions.
