Report: Kerry Collins Could Return for Titans on Sunday, Salvage Playoff Hopes

The Tennessee Titans sat at 5-2 after thrashing the Philadelphia Eagles just four weeks ago. Now at 5-6, what once appeared to be one of the AFC's elite teams has lost four straight and would be out of the playoff picture if not for the collapses of division rivals Houston and Indianapolis.

With Kerry Collins and Vince Young out with injury, all looked hopeless with Rusty Smith under center as the Titans were shut out by the league's worst defense on Sunday, but a glimmer of hope has emerged with the possible return of the ageless Collins.

According to the Tennessean, Jeff Fisher has not ruled out Collins' return for the Titans' week 13 matchup with Jacksonville.

"He pushed through some things well before the pregame warm-ups and felt good, felt like he could finish the game if need be," he said of Collins, who was able to serve as the team's backup on Sunday.

Collins' return could massively impact the offense, as his ability to throw downfield could help Randy Moss improve his total of four catches since joining Tennessee and open up space near the line of scrimmage for Chris Johnson, who was held to five yards on seven carries by the Texans in week 12.

The Titans are just a game off the pace in the AFC South and have two contests with Indianpolis remaining, in addition to Sunday's game in Nashville against the Jaguars.
