Top 10 Free Agents Red Sox Should Target This Offseason Ask as many Red Sox fans as you can this offseason what this team needs, and odds are, no two answers will be the same.

The Sox are currently without a starting third baseman (or first baseman, depending on how you look at it) and catcher, but with a handful of big names and intriguing upgrades out there, the disappointed Nation is eager for some serious changes this winter.

So which free agents are at the top of the Sox' big board this hot stove season?

While the third-base pool is thin and Kevin Youkilis can (and happily will if necessary) make the switch back across the diamond, many feel the club is seeking a slugging first baseman.

Backstop Victor Martinez is up for grabs, meaning Jarrod Saltalamacchia is all alone and currently penciled in as the Sox' starter in 2011.

The staff could also use some experience in the bullpen to close the gap from the starting rotation to Daniel Bard and Jonathan Papelbon.
